Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Treasure Island WineFest! We appreciate your help in making this event a success.

Volunteer opportunities are available both Saturday, October 10, 2009 and on event day, Sunday, October 11, 2009.

To volunteer, please complete the following information. Volunteer shifts are assigned based on order of registration and event needs. We will make every effort to accommodate your requests, however, please understand it is not always possible to do so.

Shift assignments will be e-mailed mid-September. Volunteer registration closes Friday, September 25th, 2009. Volunteers who register after this time will receive their shift assignment within a week of registration.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Saturday set up and early Sunday shift volunteers will receive one tasting pass to enjoy the festival after your shift.
  • Sunday afternoon volunteers (shifts beginning after 1:00 pm) will receive one tasting pass to a future Lodi Wine Country event, including The First Sip (November 2009), Wine & Chocolate Weekend (February 2010) or ZinFest (May 2010).

  11. Sample Shift Tasks:

    • Saturday Set Up: set up tables, distribute chairs, hang signs
    • Check-in: check-in volunteers, trade, media, and winery staff; sell tickets
    • Front Entry/Glasses: scan tickets, apply wristbands, distribute wineglasses
    • Winery Assistance: maintain water pitchers & dump buckets, assist with seminars, distribute ice, clear tables
    • Traffic & Parking: greet attendees, guide attendees to event parking, direct traffic
    • Closing/Clean up: breakdown tables, bag linens

Agreement and Volunteer Release:

  • By submitting this application, I affirm that the facts set forth in it are true and complete. I understand that if I am accepted as a volunteer, any false statements, omissions, or other misrepresentations made by me on this application may result in my immediate dismissal.
  • I further agree that I volunteer on my own free will and at my own risk. In the event of an injury, I personally accept responsibility for the full expense of medical attention as well as other expenses arising out of such injury. I further understand that some volunteer projects may have inherent risks associated with them, and it is my responsibility to know what those risks are and to not follow through on any activity I may deem too high a level of risk for my own capabilities.
  • I further agree to release and hold Treasure Island WineFest, California Wine Education Foundation, Lodi Winegrape Commission, festival sponsors and employees, harmless from and against all losses from claims or liabilities for personal damages or other damages incurred as a result of my volunteer participation related to the Treasure Island WineFest; whether or not resulting from either’s negligence.
  • I understand that NO alcohol is to be consumed before my volunteer shift or while on duty.
  • I understand that I am not an employee of the festival, or of the sponsoring organizations or facility in the volunteer capacity, and as such, am not eligible for or covered under any benefit, payroll or insurance plan, or expense reimbursement as it relates to my participation as festival volunteer.
